I almost didn’t post that video, because my mother went into absolute hysteria about the video’s crude, pornographic nature. She’s gonna have to pop a Vicodin when she’s sees my blog on #7, #18, #20, #23, #62, and #71 I’m partly kidding…I don’t think getting arrested has to be that graphic.

Anyway, it’s nothing compared to Madonna’s 2006 Grammy performance. OMG, I’d almost quit eating buckets of soy ice cream to get those legs!! Can I just touch them? Are they real? Seriously, find that video on You Tube…you’ll unconsciously hop on a treadmill and set the time for “1 week”.

I worked waaaaay too hard on that video not to post it. I drove to four different cities trying to find a nurse’s uniform, stethoscope, modern stool, hot pink rug, door numbers, curtains, and, let’s not forget, the AWESOME satin corset and sky-high heels. It took about three days to come up with the choreography - much of which was edited out to switch between scenes. Three more days were needed to re-arrange my garage and hang the curtains from the ceiling. I can only imagine what my neighbors thought was going on at my house when I started parking outside and they saw that set-up every time I opened the garage door. I wonder if they heard “I Kissed a Girl” blaring from my garage at 2am…

Well, go back to voting for my video featuring fully covered lady bits I plan on accomplishing #65 if I win, and you’re all invited!

Alright guys, it’s showtime! I have a chance to be on the Grammys (seriously!). Not just that, but I might get to be in the video for Katy Perry’s performance!! I won’t be able to do this without your help, so please go to the video in the link here and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE as much as you can by January 21, 2009! Then, pass it around to your friends, co-workers, people you don’t even know and ask them to contribute to the worthy cause. This could lead to more Things, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Does this count as getting a piece of art into an exhibition (#12)? Maybe we could plan to meet up and crash an A-list party after the Grammys (#56).

The story of how this started: I was driving home from a monotonous day at work when the radio announcer mentioned the contest. I knew immediately that I was going to submit a video and tons of ideas were popping into my head…I haven’t thought of anything else since. I had a 20-hour drive scheduled for the next two days, so I bought the Katy Perry CD and sang along to I Kissed a Girl for almost the entire drive so I could get the timing right. Not the best idea - I ended up getting a really bad sore throat. The day I got back home, I slept for about six hours, got up to take a shower, and then realized that this was the perfect opportunity to make a video (who doesn’t sing in the shower??). I yanked the stereo out of the armoire and set it up in the bathroom and propped my camera up on a suitcase as a makeshift tripod (hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!). Hours after the hot water ran out, I had an acceptable video that I didn’t know what to do with. So, off to the computer for editing. I would probably make a better president than I could a video! I initially planned to just crop the start and end time of the video, but then I found…the video effects. Let me know what you think of the finished product.
